FREE Seed Share Coming Up and Q&A with Catherine.

Dear Folks,

My Free Seed Share is this coming Saturday, January 28, 2017 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Mesa Urban Garden (MUG).

MUG is located at the North East Corner of Hibbert and 1st Avenue in Mesa.

How this works:

IF YOU Have seeds from edible plants you have grown or you have purchased from a NON-GMO, Heirloom or natural seed provider, bring some to share.

Pick out a few seeds of the varieties you want to grow, write the information on the envelopes provided and you are good - to - grow!

IF YOU do not have seeds, bring yourself and pick out a few seeds of varieties you would like to grow.

I will do a brief talk on the gardening basics this time of year here in the Valley, followed by a Q&A (I will be around until 2:30+ to answer additional questions) and then on to the seed share.

SEEDLING Starts will be available for sale ($2.00/each*).  These have been grown in jiffy pellets which means you can put them right in the ground.  Be prepared to protect tender plants like tomatoes and basil until all frost danger is over.  Planting by Feb 1st gives the plants plenty of time to get going for early harvesting.  *Please be prepared to pay with cash as we do not have a card reader.

I  hope you can make it out for this event!

Near Freezing Possible for Several Days - eBundle Sale Has Ended

Dear Folks,

According to the weather forecasts for the next week we could be near freezing overnight in the desert valley area.

I don't foresee hard frosts, so covers (jugs, sheets, cloth, blankets, thick newspaper,  cardboard boxes etc. NO PLASTIC sheeting) should protect your tender plants.

If you are using my suggested chicken wire "hats" over sown or transplant areas, you can throw a towel or sheet over the chicken wire hat, to protect from frost.

The 2017 eBundle Back to Basics Sale has ended and I want to thank everyone who purchased a bundle and ALSO remind you if you purchased through my links I owe you a PDF of my book.  If you have not sent me an email with your invoice / order number and your preferred email to receive the PDF, please do so as soon as you can.  On or about March 1st, after all the sales have been recorded and the reports issued I will be sending the PDFs to the eBundle purchasers.

Have a great time in the garden and kitchen!
